Year 2 went to visit Strudda Bank Farm as part of Science Week. Farmer Kev and Farmer Vicky told them about the importance of farms in the food chain and were able to handle the many foods that are created from each grain. Then they showed the children around the farm and introduced them to the many animals they keep there: goats, chickens, cows, sheep, sheepdogs and emus. They especially enjoyed meeting the newborn lambs and collecting eggs from the chickens. The children thoroughly deserved their lunch and a play on the play area before returning to school. A wonderful experience was had by all.
