Year 2 haven been learning about the history of their local area and how it links to other parts of the world. They learnt about how slaves from Africa were bought and sold.
Year 2 Rum Story
Year 2 enjoyed learning about how Whitehaven is connected to Africa at The Rum Story museum today.
Year 2 Slaves
As part of their topic on Africa and preparation for their trip to The Rum Story tomorrow, Year 2 re-enacted how squashed the slaves must have felt on the slave ships.
Year 2 Country Dancing
Year 2 enjoyed taking part in the Country Dancing Festival at Whitehaven Sports Centre.
Florence Arts Centre
Year 2 were invited to a workshop hosted by Florence Arts Centre in Egremont this afternoon. It was led by designer and creator Ian Stephenson. We found out about Dr Driver and his colourful STEAM Time Machine.
Year 2 End of SATs
Year 2 have had a wonderful day at the end of SATs week. A well deserved treat after all their hard work.
