Year 5 had a fantastic time during their electricity workshop and learned lots of new and exciting things. They explored how to make simple circuits using wires, batteries, and bulbs, and discovered how electricity flows around a circuit to make things work. They also learned about the importance of safety and began to understand the dangers of electricity, especially when not used properly.

The children found out how electricity is generated, including different power sources such as wind, solar, and fossil fuels. They discussed how these energy sources are used to produce the electricity we use every day in our homes and schools. They also learned about the difference between battery-powered electricity and mains electricity, understanding that batteries store energy while mains electricity comes from power stations and is much stronger.

Overall, the workshop helped Year 5 develop a clearer understanding of how electricity works and why it is so important in our daily lives.
