Year 2 are using the story ‘PenguinSmall’ by Mick Inkpen as inspiration for their dance. Today the children looked at the beginning of the story and thought carefully about how they could use facial expression and their bodies to portray the feelings of sadness and being frightened. They used pencil jumps, balances, travelling and spinning to create a short dance sequence to show how Penguin Small felt when his friends left him behind. They cannot wait to see what happens next in the story and to use the medium of dance to portray this.
