Year 2 took part in the Biggest Ever Football Event. The emphasis on this event was to encourage more girls to play football, as research has found that fewer girls take up football in comparison to boys. With the rise in popularity of women’s football, the event wants to show that girls can enjoy football just as much as the boys. All the girls played a game of football first then the boys played a game too. Each game finished with all children having a go at a penalty shoot out. There are some very talented children in the class. I’m sure if they keep playing some of them will go far.
