Year 2 have spent some time learning about their school saint St Bridget. They found out about her life and how she came to build a monastery. They found out that houses in Ireland would have a cross as they enter the house to help protect it and those who live in there. Catholics would say St Bridget’s blessing as they touched the cross before entering the house.
The children enjoyed colouring in St Bridget bookmarks for the parishioners which had St Bridget’s blessing on the reverse. Our Ethos group representatives stood outside after a celebratory Mass and offered the bookmarks to the parishioners. They were greatly received by all.
