Our first science lesson of the new school year was to use the scientific skill of observing closely. We used the senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch to explore shells and stones in the classroom. We used our scientist voice to describe the similarities and differences between the objects. Then we went outdoors to observe and describe plants and animals in the school grounds using magnifying glasses. We found several unexpected things. What a wonderful lesson to start the year!
