Ash Wednesday marks the start of the Lenten period leading up to Easter, when Jesus died and was resurrected. The ashes symbolize both death and repentance. During this period, we say sorry for our sins, because Christ died for us. We gathered together in school today to receive our ashes and reflect on the sacrifice Jesus made for us.
