This Half Term we have used Heroes as our stimulus for learning. From Super Healthy Me to Heroes in the Community, Nurses and Doctors, Bakers and Farmers. This led our learning to Harvest and Apples. We made apple crumble with apples the children had picked, some bread rolls, as well as some delicious onion soup with onions that Sky’s granny had grown! We had a fabulous trip to Walby Farm Park which helped to consolidate our learning. We then thought about imaginary superheroes and the qualities that make a hero. The children showed reflectiveness, intuitiveness and a great depth to their thinking! We decided that a Hero is someone special, that makes a difference. Today we have had fun being spooky heroes. Now it’s time to relax over Half Term so we are ready for new learning after our break. Well done Reception, thank you for a fantastic Half Term!
