We deepened our knowledge of the Vikings at Tullie House as we saw real Viking artefacts such as swords, brooches, beads and knives. We examined them to see what we can learn about them. Six Viking burial sites were found right here in Cumwhitton, Cumbria. The remains are on display in Tullie House.

After exploring the museum, we took part in hands on activities such as trying on chain mail, playing true and false games with facts, matching artefacts and their labels, writing messages with Viking Runes and even acting out a play about the Gods.

We had a great day and learnt lots! Staff at Tullie House commented that they always enjoyed us coming to visit because the children from St. Bridget’s were so well behaved and polite.
