Celebrating St Francis in Year 4

Year 4 have been learning all about St Francis of Assisi and why he is remembered for his love of animals and care for the natural world.

We began by watching a video about St Francis and learning more about his life and story. We discovered how he showed kindness and compassion towards all living things and why he is such an important example for us to follow.

Inspired by his story, we created our own beautiful bird pictures. On each bird, we wrote a promise about how we can care for animals and show kindness to the world around us. These promises reminded us that even small actions, such as providing food and water for wildlife, treating animals gently and looking after their habitats, can make a big difference. 🐦💚

To finish our learning, we carefully coloured in pictures of St Francis, reflecting on his message of love, kindness and respect for all of God's creation.

We are very proud of Year 4 for their thoughtful promises and wonderful artwork. We hope they will continue to put these promises into action and follow in St Francis's footsteps by caring for all living things! 🌿
