We have enjoyed a wonderful trip to Strudda Bank Farm at Calderbridge. Farmer Kev and his family taught us all about the food we eat.
We learnt how farms are very good at recycling and reducing waste to a minimum. It was lots of fun feeding the cows, herding sheep, collecting eggs and even seeing where the Barn Owl nests. We weighed some sheep to see if they were ready for the auction market and learnt about how they are tagged to trace them. Tonight we all may need a good bath but we’ve had an awesome day in the fresh air learning about the vital work of our farms.
