Year 4 continued their river work today with Becca from Cumbria River Trust. We started in the classroom and learnt all about fresh water mussels. We measured their shells then using a graph and worked out how old they were. We then walked back down to the weir for a picnic lunch learning lots about plants and wild life along the way. We drew pictures, wrote some poetry and made up some river songs. We even saw a herd of cows come down to the river for a drink. A fantastic day!
