We use a whole school approach and have adopted the ‘Think u Know’ programme.

In reception we meet Lee, Kim and SID the superhero who keeps us safe online. He teaches us 4 top tips:

  1. Stranger Danger.
  2. Be as nice on the computer as you would be face to face.
  3. Keep your personal information private.
  4. Tell a grown up if something is wrong.

In KS1 we have Hector the dolphin and his friends to teach us about how to use computers safely and what information we should never share.  We follow Hector through a number of situations and discuss how to stay safe and NEVER share personal details.

In KS2 we explore the cyber café it includes lots of information including social media, Emails, Chat rooms, file sharing and gaming.  It shows our children how to stay in control online.  How to report any problems and includes handy tips.

Learning about staying safe online is very important at St Bridget’s Primary School. We make sure all our pupils are aware of some of the risks to safety that are online and what to do to stay safe.
