During our Spooky Spectacular the children learned all about the artist Joan Miro and looked at how he used lines and shapes to create his artwork. The children explored using lines and shapes to create their own surreal artwork of a spooky creature/scene.
We enjoyed making our own clay coil pots as they would have made during the Stone Age.
In art Year 2 have been looking at printing. They explored patterns in the environment including those in nature. They used paints and objects from the classroom to create repeating patterns and adding layers to them.
Our Nursery children had lots of fun this week creating bubble paintings. They had to blow through a straw into a mixture of paint and washing up liquid to make the colourful pictures. Look at the wonderful bubble pictures they made!
Year 4 learnt new techniques to create different effects with their paint brush. They used watercolours to create a landscape which showed a variety of painting techniques. They also explored how to blend and apply oil pastel for best effect on their bonfire
Preparing for winter weather with seasonal artwork. Children created winter silhouettes using oil pastel, paint and black marker pen.

We have thoroughly enjoyed making dancing dragons as part of our Chinese New Year celebration day. We even had some time to make our dragons dance to some traditional Chinese music.
As part of Chinese New Year celebrations, every age group across the school worked together in a series of workshops to recreate the story of the Willow Pattern on their own plates. The design was very intricate but the results were really effective.
This week Nursery have been practising their fine motor skills by creating these lovely finger paintings. They had so much fun getting their hands all covered in paint!
