This week we have been reading the stories of Supertato and Evil Pea Rules.

The children then found clues that Evil Pea was in the class and he appeared and kidnapped a Super Potato.

The children then made their own superhero masks to help Supertato catch Evil Pea.

He had squashed some peas and left a message on one of the children's name boards.

We also made vegetable soup in the water tray with the vegetables from the story.

Due to the Christmas break, we’ve had to wait a little longer for our Ofsted Inspection report to be released. We now have a copy of the letter and will be sending it home with all children today. We are absolutely delighted with the outcome and the feedback we received from the Ofsted Inspector during his one day visit. As a result the school remains "Good". Here’s a snippet of what he’s reported:

“The school has remained a very positive and hard-working place.”
“It is clear that everyone at the school works for the benefit of pupils.”
“A pupil joining St. Bridget’s can be confident that they will be valued, looked after and expected to try hard.”
“Pupils’ pride in themselves is part of the background to their very good behaviour in lessons and around school.”
“Nursery and Reception…provide children with good opportunities and a successful start to school life.”
“I saw teachers skilfully helping pupils to learn.”
“Pupils in different years confidently use the writing skills they develop in English activities in other subjects.”
“The responses to Parent View...expressed very high levels of satisfaction with the school.”
“The leadership team ensures that pupils in the school are properly safeguarded.”
“The school’s determination to keep pupils safe is demonstrated by the wide display of details about safeguarding.”
“Leaders and governors work together for the benefit of pupils.”
“The early year provision in the school is led effectively. Children in the early years learn rapidly.”
“I saw busy and happy classrooms where teachers and teaching assistants were helping pupils to learn successfully.”

Year 3 have had a great time investigating rocks today. We tested the hardness of different rocks by scratching them with different materials. Next we made predictions and tested if any rocks would float. We also looked closely at interesting rocks, crystals, fossils and ancient shark teeth. We think that science rocks!!!

What a fantastic turn out for our Grandparents' Bingo and Macmillan coffee afternoon!

We were overwhelmed by the amount of support shown.

One grandparent said, "It's not that we love bingo, we love the school."

We raised just over £500, which will all go towards Macmillan Cancer Support.

Thank you to everyone who came and made today such a success.

As I'm not on Facebook I just wanted to contact you to say what an amazing afternoon we had today. So much respect and admiration for the outstanding organisation of the school's summer fete. The staff and everyone involved are just amazing. So much heart and soul in everything you do. I am so proud to be able to say my daughter is a pupil at such a wonderful school. She is incredibly happy at your school and I am excited to see her thrive and grow year after year with you all.
So a final well done and huge thank you to you all. Enjoy the weekend, you all truly deserve it!
